This webcam is positioned just above the dining room window of the Pot and Barrel B&B in Bude, looking across the terrace from where alfresco breakfasts are served on warm sunny mornings.

Its view takes in the beautiful beaches of Bude and their surf, the countryside, cliffs and coast, on past Tintagel and Padstow to Trevose Head, some 30 miles distant.

Compass Point is the small tower seen on the cliffs, originally a coastguard lookout and based on the ‘Temple of Winds’ in Athens; having eight sides it is known locally as The Pepper Pot.

Barrel rock has an old propellor shaft from a 1917 shipwreck, the SS Belem, projecting from it with a barrel fitted to its top which is a navigation aid signalling safe passage to the harbour at high tide, with an intermittent lamp operating from dusk to dawn.

Enjoy this view each and every morning of your stay at The Pot and Barrel, Bude’s bed and breakfast beside the sea!
